Saturday did not start well, I woke up with a very sore throat and a cold. Saying I felt desperate would be an understatement. Sadly I'd had to cancel plans to meet my pen pal Cheryl. I was so disappointed, but I think it was the right decision to make. I really wouldn't have been up to much, and I believe Cheryl was poorly too. Definitely something doing the rounds in Orlando!!
So, having got up late we made out way to the outlet Mall. I figured we could take it easy and call it a day if I felt too bad. It was nice to just take a gently stroll around the mall. We didn't buy anything, but at least it got us out of the hotel room. We had planned to have lunch at Dick's Last resort, so it was a bit of a surprise to find it closed when we walked over there! Seems like a few places had closed since we were last in Florida. Kind of left us not knowing what to do, it was hot and there was little in the way of shade. Not a good combination! In the end we headed back down I-Drive and stopped at The Wonder Works, we decided to get tickets for the Outta Control Magic show. Its something I had really wanted to see. Once tickets were purchased, we decided to walk to Café Tutu Tongo. It turned out to be way further than I thought.....oh dear!! But we got there in the end! Its an interesting place, and somewhere I had always wanted to try. There's artwork hanging on the walls that you can purchase, and they a resident artist on site making jewellery etc. I got up and had a wander around while we waited for dinner, lots to see. The food was good, but expensive!
After lunch we got the trolley back to the hotel, I was ready for a lie down somewhere cool! The cold was really starting to develop and I was ready to drop!! Apparently back at home snow was forecast! Once again, we luckily managed to miss it. That made me happy.
Later in the evening we got the trolley back down to the Wonder works, oh my god, I thought we were going to be late for the show. At one stop about 50 cheerleadery types got on.....very slowly. You have never heard noise like it, we couldn't 't wait to get off the trolley, and that in itself was a challenge. But at least we reached the Wonder Works and made our way in for the show.
The Outta Control Magic Show was awesome, the crowd wasn't too big and we were sat right at the front by the stage. Dinner was unlimited pizza and salad, really good pizza! And also as much beer or wine as you wanted. I could certainly go for that! We loved the show, Tony Brent was hilarious and I will never work out how he did those tricks. Despite feeling sick, the wine helped and I laughed so much my sides hurt. And as we were in the front Paul got to bang the gong to start the show, he liked that!!
Despite the disappointment of not seeing Cheryl, and the horror of feeling awful we rescued the day the best way we could. And you know what, it was good! There was definitely magic in the day!
